A Wedding Day Full of Love, Tradition, and Magic

Wei Synn and Michael’s December 14, 2024, wedding was a perfect celebration of love, culture, and joy. The day was everything they dreamed of, from heartfelt moments with family to unforgettable surprises for their guests. Held at the gorgeous Elm Hurst Inn, their wedding day was filled with warmth—even in the freezing cold!

Getting Ready for the Big Day

We kicked off the day bright and early at 7:30 AM at the beautiful Elm Hurst Inn. The girls were already buzzing with excitement, getting their hair and makeup done, while the boys helped finalize all the little details to ensure everything went smoothly.

Wei Synn had not one but three stunning dresses for her big day, each more beautiful than the last. I made sure to capture all the little details—her intricate jewellery, the delicate lace on her gowns, and the emotions in the room. Meanwhile, Michael shared thoughtful gifts with his groomsmen, and Wei Synn handed out her own heartfelt gifts to her bridesmaids. There were so many laughs, smiles, and happy tears during these moments, and it was just the beginning of an unforgettable day.

A Beautiful Tradition: The Tea Ceremony

At 11:00 AM, the couple hosted a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. This intimate tradition is such a beautiful way to show respect to their elders while receiving blessings and well wishes. The atmosphere was filled with love and connection as family members came together to share this meaningful ritual.

After the tea ceremony, we captured some family photos with everyone—memories they’ll cherish for years to come.

First Looks That Melted Hearts

Once the tea ceremony wrapped, it was time for outfit number two! Wei Synn changed into her breathtaking white wedding dress, and the couple shared two incredibly sweet first looks—one with her parents and one with Michael.

A Short and Sweet Ceremony

Their ceremony took place in the Elm Hurst Inn’s cozy indoor space, starting with Michael walking down the aisle with his mom. As the bridesmaids and groomsmen made their entrances, anticipation grew for the big moment. Finally, Wei Synn entered with her father, looking absolutely radiant.

The ceremony was exactly what the couple wanted: short, sweet, and personal. They had already exchanged private vows through letters earlier in the day, making the ceremony a beautiful, heartfelt moment shared with family and friends.

Braving the Cold for Stunning Photos

After the ceremony, we captured family photos in the front lobby before heading outside for bridal party and couple portraits. Despite the freezing weather, everyone powered through for some gorgeous shots. The girls and guys brought their A-game, and we even snuck in some dreamy solo shots of just Wei Synn and Michael before heading back inside to warm up.

Reception Highlights: Speeches, Dances, and a Show-Stopping Surprise

The reception kicked off at 3:00 PM with a grand entrance from the couple, followed by touching speeches from their loved ones and the father-daughter dance and mother-son dance.

Dinner was served after the speeches, but the couple had a few surprises up their sleeves before the night wrapped up.

The first surprise was a beautiful family performance. Wei Synn and her father sang a heartfelt song, accompanied by her brother on guitar. Then, her mom joined them for another touching song that had everyone smiling and clapping along.

But the biggest surprise of the night? The Wushu Project’s lion dance performance! The energy in the room was electric as the performers wowed everyone with their incredible skills. It was a highlight for many guests—and the perfect way to celebrate the couple’s heritage.

A Stunning Final Look and Dance Party

After the lion dance, Wei Synn snuck away for one last outfit change. Her final dress of the night—a black gown inspired by Wednesday Addams—was bold, unique, and absolutely stunning. She looked incredible as she returned to the dance floor to celebrate with friends and family.

The couple danced the night away, surrounded by the people who love them most. It was the perfect ending to a truly magical day.
